Scroll down on the screen to find the section marked Home Control. It has a lightbulb icon and says, "Manage the devices in your home." Yes, Google Home and Simplisafe are compatible with each other. Setting up Simplisafe with Google Home requires a few steps on your Google Home app.

This turned out to be an absolute favorite of my wife and I, as it meant we didn’t have to pull out our phones to arm the system as we left home. Easily build your system online or call a security specialist to talk through which security sensors and cameras your home needs. We'll ship them to your front door in less than a week.
Does SimpliSafe Work with Amazon Alexa?
Just mere hours after I posted this piece, we really got a chance to put it to the test. While cooking, our dinner caught fire while briefly unattended, with SimpliSafe’s quick phone call notification making me aware of what was happening so I could calmly resolve the situation. This exact incident had a very slim chance of doing any actual damage to our home, as the fire burned itself out seconds later, but it really did show the value proposition of SimpliSafe’s monitoring. There’s a 60-day trial period with your purchase and a one-month trial for monitoring. It’s an incredible wireless camera that works hand in hand with our award-winning security system to keep your family safe - whether your home or away.

Of course, this means you won’t get advanced features like AI or geofencing, but sometimes easy does it. We think SimpliSafe is a great DIY system for folks just looking to dip their toes in the home automation waters, but at the same time don’t want to complicate things. For now, arming and status-checking is all you can do with Google. Fingers crossed SimpliSafe expands its integration in the future.

Meanwhile, SimpliSafe also recently announced integrations with August Smart Locks and Apple Watch. I am a Mechanical Engineer with years of experience working in the Security Industry. Aside from giving out useful information here, my hobbies include researching, listening to classical songs. You may directly ask Google or Alexa to arm SimpliSafe, or just say, “my security system.” Just keep in mind that you must be explicit about what you want to equip the system to.

Samsung SmartThings is easy-peezy, but the SmartThings-to-SimpliSafe integration is another story. There’s a back-door way of integrating your SimpliSafe system with SmartThings, but we don’t really recommend it. So if you’re a SmartThings user, you should wait until SimpliSafe unveils this integration, which we think is coming soon .
Smart home compatible
The alarm system worked wonderfully, but it was a bit frustrating to have difficulty turning off a blaring siren just moments after being abruptly woken up and on the phone with monitoring. Note that August makes several different smart locks that work with SimpliSafe, but we’re really liking the new Wi-Fi Smart Lock. At $249.99, it’s not cheap, but it’ll allow you to remotely lock and unlock your door, keep tabs on your door status, hand out virtual keys, and lots more. With this configuration, monitoring your home is easier than ever. For this reason, adding smart home automation control like this with Google Home is an excellent idea if you are the type who likes to have everything controlled with voice commands. There is one thing that I should mention here about this setup.

You can use the monitoring system on top of keeping the alarm available to deter burglaries from happening. You don’t need an engineering degree to understand how to install it. The sensor works well enough, and I was actually quite impressed with how it was able to handle my two dogs. Where my older Nest system constantly had false alarms if my dogs walked into the same room together, SimpliSafe’s motion sensor was never tripped by the two of them. I did have to mount the sensor low on the wall to ensure no false alarms, though, which was a bit difficult to find a decent spot for.
Other than that, the system includes the latest encryption codes that are nearly impossible to hack or alter, especially if you have the latest version. On the other hand, ADT has fewer upfront costs, and it also includes installation charges, but their monthly charges are much higher than the SimpliSafe. However, Nest thermostat sensing is usually up to the mark, and sometimes it can go wrong, especially if your routine is not consistent. In such cases, you might notice flaws in its performance. This also happens when you have a large family, or your home remains busy most of the time. Meanwhile, a simple tap of the “x” removes it, but it’s particularly odd that this is being pushed to more than a few people.

It includes cameras, a thermostat, smoke alarms and more. Nest also offers a range of compatible devices from third-party companies that let you extend the capabilities of the system. With these features, Google Nest provides an easy way to monitor and control your home from anywhere in the world. Once you’ve logged in with your SimpliSafe account or created one, follow the instructions provided by the Google Home app to finish setting up your SimpliSafe integration. This will include connecting your SimpliSafe account with your Google Home device. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to use voice commands to control your SimpliSafe system.
SimpliSafe works with a variety of smart home devices, including Google Home, Alexa, IFTTT, and Apple HomeKit. Best Cell Phone Plans of 2022 Researching top cell phone plans can be tough. The big downside to using the SimpliSafe Smart Lock over August models is that the SimpliSafe lock doesn't work directly with Alexa and Google. You can't unlock your doors using your voice, whereas August locks work with both Alexa and Google, and you can lock and unlock them with a voice command. SimpliSafe separates itself from other security systems by using multiple sensor types in order to detect various things ranging from freezing temperatures to breaking glass.

However, there are some prominent differences between the two. SimpliSafe home security and comprehensive packages are expensive as you will have to pay more upfront charges, but they have lower monthly monitoring charges. As mentioned earlier, SimpliSafe security systems work with the Nest thermostat and with Google Assistant as well.
For the time being, Google just allows you to arm and check your status. SimpliSafe’s connection should be expanded in the future, fingers crossed. Once you have the Google Home app installed, open it and select “Add” in the top right corner. You can then select “Set up device” and “Works with Google” from the menu. Scroll down until you see SimpliSafe listed and select it.

To sum things up, we think SimpliSafe offers just enough home automations to keep most folks happy. It’s not our best-rated home security system by accident; so if you’re looking for all-around value and affordability, we’d recommend giving SimpliSafe a try. We didn’t test this ourselves (we’re Alexa fans), but we’ve heard it’s smooth sailing.
The app will help you set up and manage all of your Google Home devices. Home security is important, and traditional systems can get pricey quickly. SimpliSafe is affordable, easy to use, and has features that matter. In my book, Google Assistant integration should be free, especially if it’s just turning something on. But if you genuinely need home security, this is still one of the easiest and most affordable ways to do so. By comparison, ADT’s monitoring packages start at SimpliSafe’s maximum monthly cost.
